academic essays

I’m a student. More than that, I’m an anthropology student. This means I write way too many papers, some of which I consider not-too-mediocre, and which I’ll post in here. I apologize beforehand for their mediocrity.

“Los grupos antiinmigrantes y el racismo armado” – Final paper for México: Mitos y realidades about anti-immigrant groups, primarily the Minutemen, and their links to fascist/racist groups and militias (other than themselves). English translation coming soon?

“International Human Rights as Consensus or Domination” – Midterm paper for Introduction to Human Rights. I now disagree with most of my argument, including my basic premise, but I’m fond enough of my rather restrained yet angry anti-imperialism to post the entire thing.

“The Students of Malcolm X College” – My research essay for University Writing. Not exhaustive, but I felt like doing a bit of reading on the topic anyway, so I did, and passed it off as “research.”

“Native Authors, Native Writing, and the Conflict of Identity” – My term paper for Re-Imagining Native America.

“The One Where Robert DeNiro Dies for the Indians” – review of The Mission for Early Latin American Civilization.

“Free Will in the Qur’an and Medieval Islamic Thought” – short paper for Contemporary Civilization.

“Inequality and the Language of Real LIfe” – essay for Origins of Human Society on Kirpatrick Sale’s After Eden. I point out my issues with Sale’s use of language, although I agree with his views.

“The Clastrian Trace: Archaeology and the Success of Anarchy” – final paper for Pre-Columbian Histories of Native America, thoughts on anarchist archaeology.
